The Golden Rule
I based my PSA on the Ethics of Representation on Pg. 136 of our text and the ethical triangle of Subject, Author and Audience in Figure 7.2. Our text suggests using "the 'Golden Rule' to initiate meaningful conversation about social and ethical issues." I use the 'definition' of each of the three pieces of the ethical triangle. I anticipated that most of my audience has not applied the Golden Rule to their postings. My hope is that anyone reading, watching and or listening to the PSA would retain at least one thing (hopefully more) to apply to future posts. I used two familiar images and sounds - the Golden Rule & squeaky door and Smokey Bear & crackling fire to trigger recall. I narrate through out making suggestions that connect the text to the action I hope they take.
All images and sounds are either original creations or from creativecommons.org or common.wikimedia.org unless otherwise noted.
